Looking for Botox Newcastle or Anti-Wrinkle Injections in Newcastle? Keep reading.

Anti-wrinkle injections and Botox are effective treatments used by millions of people around the globe to treat lines and wrinkles. Products used for these treatments include Botox® and Azallure®. Newcastle Botox customers are delighted with Abby Stacey natural flawless results.

What is Botox and how does it work?

Botox or Botulinum toxin type A is a neurotoxin used for a wide range of medical procedures in the NHS. The injectable is considered as a safe and effective means of reversing your cosmetic clock. In fact, Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the UK that is mainly used target wrinkles and lines that result from facial movements like smiling, frowning, squinting and sleeping on your side.

Botox works by blocking nerve impulses and relaxing the muscles underneath your skin. Therefore, your wrinkles will be minimized and your expressions will soften as well.

Botox procedure

Botox and anti-wrinkle injections are non-surgical and usually only require one office visit, unless a top up is required. You will have a consultation before the treatment to discuss your goals and concerns. Your practitioner will evaluate your medical history.

It is important that you explain your medical history completely even though the procedure comes with very little risk. You have to tell your practitioner if you have been taking medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen and blood thinners, for example. The procedure will begin with a series of small injections in your problem areas, such as the forehead, around your eyes or between your eyebrows. Your practitioner will determine the number of injections and amount of toxin to be used depending on your requirements.

Am I a candidate for Botox?

Most adults with problems associated with aging lines, wrinkles, sagginess etc. are likely candidates for Botox. However, the treatment should not be done on pregnant women and nursing mothers and patients with neuromuscular disorders, motor neuropathy, Lambert-Eaton syndrome and myasthenia gravis.

Where is Botox injected?

Botox is injected in your problem area. It can be used to smooth our frown lines, crow’s feet, squint lines, forehead lines and neck lines.

How long does it take to have a Botox treatment?

The procedure only takes about a few minutes and most patients report a pinching feeling during the injection but not any pain. The practitioner may apply a topical anesthetic but most patients don’t feel the need for it. The needles used are thin and the injections aren’t deep. The number of injections will depend on your individual needs.

When will you see the effects of Botox and Azallure injections?

Results aren’t immediate following treatment so don’t be alarmed if you do not see any changes. Depending on the amount of product used and the area being treated, results will take anywhere around 3 to 14 days to kick in. If this is your first time, your practitioner may use a smaller amount than needed and ask for another visit to achieve more natural results.

Risks and complications

Side effects are very rare, but they may include slight bruising, eyelid or eyebrow droops, flu-like symptoms and a temporary headache. Allergic reactions are very rare as well.

Aftercare advice

While you may be able to return to normal activities right after your treatment, you may be asked to take a day out from working out and other vigorous activities. In addition, you will have to keep your head upright for a day.

Pro tip: You can prolong results by making weird faces (make sure nobody is looking!) while on your way back from the clinic. This moves the muscles in your face and helps the Botox reach further.

How long will my Botox treatment last?

It usually lasts for 3 to 4 months. Every individual is different so this may vary from person to person. At Abby Stacey we ensure that you have the safest, most natural outcome from your Botox treatment in Newcastle
