Would I suit Semi-Permanent Makeup?
As a Cosmetic Nurse, I get asked questions like this constantly.
‘Will I suit Semi-Permanent Makeup?’
‘Am I too old for this sort of thing?’
‘Isn’t that just for girls who love the tanned look?’
The answers are pretty simple. Yes, no, and definitely not! Semi-Permanent Makeup is more than just timesaving for those who like to create their own brows, or an easy extra to add on top of tan, hair and nails. It’s as flexible and artistic as makeup itself.
Have a style you want to wear constantly, but it takes too long to do? Semi-permanent Makeup will let you do it. You prefer a more demure, elegant, classic style of makeup, but find it drains far too much of your time regardless? It can solve that problem too.
Anything makeup can do, it can do better… (Bonus points if you now have that song in your head!)
That said, lets break down those questions.
Will I suit Semi-Permanent Makeup?
That depends entirely on what you ask for. If your usual style and what you ask for are drastically different, then it’s entirely possible you might not. But if you’re smart enough to test out what you can beforehand, it’s pretty easy to judge what you will look like afterwards. My number one piece of advice here? Save experimentation for normal makeup, and go with a tried and tested style if you’re thinking of making it long lasting.
Am I too old for this sort of thing?
Firstly, a piece of advice that you’ve probably already heard, but applies quite well here. You’re only as old as you feel. If you feel youthful and confident (or are made to feel youthful and confident by treatments like this) then by all means, act youthful and confident! The days of women being forced to stop having fun once they hit a certain age are long gone. Wear what you want. Do your makeup how you want. Act how you want.
On the other hand, if you feel that a more mature style would suit you, that acting your age in an elegant manner would draw far more favourable attention than reverting to your twenties? Then do that. Dress with elegance, and plan your makeup to compliment that.
Either way, you can use Semi-Permanent makeup to save you time (or keep your makeup un-smudged if you end up dancing in the rain…)

If you suit the makeup you usually put on, you will suit it on a more long term basis. Whether you want naturally styled brows with individual hairs, or eye catching, block coloured alternatives, the style is up to you. If you have a look in mind, ask for it!
